The International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (ISFNK) was founded in Geneva, Switzerland on 14 December 1988. Its main aim is to promote the work and thought of our great writer, around the world.

Today, there are sections of the ISFNK in most countries of the world, and the number of members is in the thousands.

The ISFNK President is Dr George Stassinakis, Knight of the National Order of Merit  (of the Republic of France), and also Ambassador of Hellenism.

On 14 February 2011, Dr Stassinakis named Mr Panayotis Sfalagakos, a resident of Antiparos, ISFNK Representative for the islands of Antiparos and Paros.

The local group of Antiparos and Paros is part of the Greek Section of the ISFNK.

The ISFNK annual membership fee is 10 euros.

For more information and to register as a member, please contact Mr Sfalagakos by e-mail at or by ringing (++30) 6974723256.

If you also know Greek, be sure to visit the ISFNK website at, which contains and offers a wealth of information on Kazantzakis, his work, and, of course, on the work of the ISFNK.
